Our policy is to keep the cost of participation in Moscow Open as low as possible. We understand that different participants will have different financial capacity: some save on everything but cheap beer, others dine three times a day in the most gorgeous and expencive restaurants in the world.

Based on these principles, unless we find a really generous sponsor, the financial conditions are going to be as follows:

Participation fee

• Debaters from Moscow - 500 RUR per person
• Observers – 500 RUR per person
• Adjudicators – no participation fee
• Guest teams (outside Moscow) – no participation fee

Meals

• 3 coffee breaks included into participation fee
• Free food at the party
• We will try to cater for special dietary requirements (i.e. vegetarian, halal etc.) to the extent possible – please get in touch with the orgcomm on this issue
• For early arrivals on Saturday – you can have a meal on your own expense in one of the canteens in MGIMO

Accomodation

• Crash (i.e. at smb’s apartment free of charge) is available, to be distributed on first come first served basis. Bringing a sleeping bag with you is recommended!
• Student hostel ~15-20$ per person per night.
• Hotel - starting from 35$ per person per night.

If you require crash, please indicate that in the registration form. Participants wishing to stay in a hostel or in a hotel are responsible for booking their own accomodation.

Miscellaneous

Moscow is believed to be a very expensive city to live. We will not dispute that. Instead, we would give you a "debater's price list":
• beer (0.5 l): 20-50 RUR in the shop (70-150 RUR in a bar or restaurant)
• average meal in a restaurant: 200 - 500 RUR
• average McDonald's meal (Royal Cheeseburger, fries + Coke): 140 RUR
• one metro or bus ride: 20 RUR (we recommend to buy tokens for 5-10 rides to save up to 10%)
• 1 cup of coffee: 15 RUR in a coffee vending machine, 20 RUR in a student canteen, 40-150 RUR in a coffee shop (attn the Dutch: these coffee shops sell coffee, no weed)
