MGIMO Debate Club is open for everyone who is willing to debate, to share their opinion and to exchange ideas.

WHY JOIN MGIMO DC

Here are some good reasons why you should join us:

1) MGIMO DC is the best debating society in Russia and one of the best in the whole Eastern Europe. We have brilliant coaches and a number of experienced debaters who can help you make progress in debating and improve your public speaking and argumentation skills.

2) Debate Club is the largest student organization in MGIMO. Some 70 students from MGIMO and other leading Moscow universities enjoy our membership.

3) Debates can give you a lot. You can learn how to analyze problems and give viable solutions to them, support your proposals with arguments and refute your opponents' standpoint. You can also learn how to make your thoughts and presentations more structured. You can learn to speak in front of a large audience and to attract and keep its attention. We discuss a wide range of topics concerning all aspects of the modern life, therefore, debating will broaden your mind tremendously.

4) When participating in different championships you will meet interesting people from all over the world and make new friends.

FULL MEMBERSHIP

If you study at MGIMO you can enjoy free full membership in the MGIMO DC. All you have to do is come to any of our meetings and register. Full membership gives you the right to represent the club and MGIMO University at all the debating tournaments. Moreover, full members can participate in internal tournaments and compete for the right to represent our University at European and World Debating championships. Only full members can be sponsored by MGIMO University.

ASSOCIATED MEMBERSHIP

If you are not from MGIMO, you can also join us and enjoy free associated membership. This includes participation in all our meetings, workshops and seminars. Associated members can also take part in the internal competitions without the right to break to the final rounds. They cannot represent our club at other competitions and cannot be sponsored by the MGIMO University.
